    THE WORKSHOP CONSISTS OF:

In first place, the workshop will have to be defined as either a "Cajón Flamenco" or a "Cajón Flamenco" and "Drums workshop"

          1- CLAPPING
How to clap to the "Palos" (rhythms) in the most common Flamenco moods, (Soleá, Bulerías, Alegrías, Tangos, Tientos , Rumbas, Sevillanas, Tanguillos, Fandangos de Huelva), the importance of recognising and distinguishing each "palo" in Flamenco.

           2- CAJÓN TECHIQUE
The cajón is a very complete instrument and is full of sound possibilities. Despite its apparent simplicity in form, there is a great variety of sounds if we know how to play it.

3- THE "PALOS" (RHYTHMS) OF THE CAJÓN
How to play the "palos" on the cajón as mentioned before in both its basic form and the possible variations of each palo. Later, how to play the final endings "remates"(breaks), of each one of the "palos".

           4- CLAPPING AND CAJÓN
The merging together of both techniques of clapping and playing the cajón, in order to have a clearer and better understanding of the flamenco moods of the "Palos".

COMMENTARY
Throughout the duration of the workshop, the students will participate in the classes in an individual and in a group form, that is to say that the teacher will review each student's progress and comprehension of every step, finishing off with a group performance. Students will listen to extracts of music to have a better and clearer understanding of the concepts of this music and later accompany the music with the cajón.

Cajón workshop will be carried out as mentioned previously, the drum workshop will be explained in the following way:

          1- DRUMS TECNIQUE
Clear and effective exercises to improve flexibility, speed, and confidence on the drums will be shown. Together with warming up of the wrists and being prepared for playing, in order to avoid tensions in the hands and arms and/or any other possible injuries that might crop up.

          2- DRUMS IN FLAMENCO
How to play Bulerías, Alegrías, Tangos , Tientos , Soleá , Tanguillos, Fandangos de Huelva, ó Sevillanas and how to write the music scores.

3- HOW AND WHEN PLAYING DRUMS IN FLAMENCO
Playing drums in Flamenco is somehow recent, and as an instrument, it is not always included in all the moods of Flamenco and "when" the drums should accompany Flamenco and "how", depends on the group and style will be talked about.

4- PLAYING AND PRACTISING WITH MUSIC
Music audios and accompaniment with drums will be carried out. And as a result a greater understanding of the flexibility of the tempo of flamenco, the density of its language, and how to react to the continuous changes of rhythms that this music produces.

  NOTE
In order to carry out the workshop adequately, it will be necessary to have access to a music stereo, whiteboard, and adequate space for the students and their instruments.
